This and That

Sam's 2nd tooth finally came in the day before yesterday. I felt bad for the poor kid. There were some nights he was really having trouble sleeping and he'd wake up in the middle of the night and be up for two to three hours before he could finally fall back asleep. Thank goodness for teething tablets. I finally figured out that 2 or 3 of those before nap and bedtime really helped him to get the sleep he needed, otherwise it was 30 min naps...which wasn't fun for either of us.

Sam had finally become a little more steady on his feet when he pulls himself up on things. For a while there it seemed like every time he would pull himself up on anything other than the couch he would fall and hit his forehead on whatever he was using to pull himself up. He had some lovely bruises on his forehead and literally had a few one on top of another from hitting himself in the same place repeatedly. He only has one left and its getting much lighter. Thank goodness...I was afraid to take him out for a while for fear that someone would call child protective services on me.

Sam's favorite toys right now are the Little People bus (that he has figured out how to crawl and push around on the floor), and his big blue ball that he likes to chase around and roll back and forth with us. He also likes to "dance" (ie sit up and move his shoulders) to any of his toys that play music. He waves bye-bye and says "all done" in sign language (but not until I say it first out loud) and he says "hi" and "hi, dad" (it sounds like "hi da") out loud. He also says "yeah" but I don't think he knows what it means yet. I don't know if he is any smarter than most kids his age, but we like to tell ourselves that he is brilliant. It makes us feel good as parents :) .

A Trip to the Park

So we actually had some sunshine earlier this week instead of rain, so Brian and I tagged along with Amie and the girls and took Sam to the carousel at the park. He wasn't quite sure what to think of it...but I liked the swing afterwards.

A Tooth

Sam's first tooth came through on Saturday. It hasn't come in enough that you can really see it, but its definately there. Once it really pops up I'm planning on taking pictures.
